Went to the old corporate holiday party last night. Well, I actually had no intention of going. I would have rather stayed home and snuggled baby but Patrick convinced me to go as he was getting his 20 year pin or something.Sure the party was alright and all but I would have preferred to either bring baby or stay home. I remember my parents holiday parties from when I was little. Not only was there a great meal, all family oriented, but Santa would visit and bring a sack of toys and we could go up to sit on Santa's lap and get a toy. Now I know this makes me seem juvenile but I would preference a corporate party like this. Sitting at table attempting to make awkward conversation with people you hardly know is somewhat difficult. If you have some children around to shake it up a bit, then things would be better. (yea sure, some people in the vast world would be offended as Santa would be on the premise...I guess Coca Cola is evil or something!)
I guess I should have packed Dr. Bunny in my bag. She could have been my purse cat. She would have delivered the extra special something that every holiday party needs. What that is? I don't know, but it would have been super special!
Probably will not attend the Holiday party again, ever. Patrick is trying to convince me to attend my 10 year but I would rather face plant into a snow drift until my son digs me out and sticks a carrot up my nose.
