mythology of Summer...

Having a crawling baby about defines summer to a whole new degree...it is so much funner then it ever was before! When I was little I reveled in the joys of the sunlit realms that bathed summer days in the perfect joy. As I got older, I grew sequestered, hovering about offices, playing with the tech., and basically kinda of boring. Since Nick has arrived on the planet, the summer mythical aura has returned! For example, instead of lounging in the perfectly air conditioned house and watching some extremely horrifying television last night, Nick I spent our time between the wading pool and chasing helpless ants on the patio with the Queen Mum of evil Isis.

Naked feet, drenched in sweat, sun-kissed faced (coated with sunblock), and always running the risk of being bitten by something adds the equation of "fun" that seemed to have been lost to me. Years ago, I headed to Watertown to hang out with my cousins and brother for the 4th of July along at Sandy Shore State Park. We spent the days: going to town to get ice cream, comparing our bug bites, sleeping in tents, and looking for "amber." I miss those days.  We are all rather grown up and boring, maybe we should try for that again next year!  Nick would love!
