Have been watching a lot less of the World Cup then I like. Catch 10 minutes here and there. When one has an active crawling baby....letting him hurtle down the stairs while you are glued to the US vs. Ghana matched is frowned upon. Have been keeping "close company" online with FIFA and the ESPN sites. Am not certain how I survived before this wonderful realm of the internet tubes came into existence?!
Dooce.com had a fantastic post that kinda of summed of a majority of the US perspective of Football (Soccer) " A couple of weeks ago when I was in New York for HGTV I grabbed a quick drink at the hotel bar before the car to the airport arrived, taking a seat right underneath a giant flat screen TV that was tuned to The World Cup. There were only a few other people there, and suddenly I heard a really loud, obnoxious voice from behind me complaining about "this boring soccer crap." And when I turned around to see who he was talking to, I noticed he had a fancy set of golf clubs sewn on the left chest of his shirt. Did I just sum up America in that last bit, or what?" ............

I have to admit we do have golf clubs in the basement, from Patrick's previous life..when he was allowed to date :-). I would get rid of them, but they will be needed during the zombie hoards of 2012.
