Couple days ago I saw the following article. Basic, fraud insurance corruption case, really no big deal. This sort of thing happens.
Man accused of faking son's death
Posted: Saturday, August 21, 2010 12:45 amA state investigation indicates a Fargo man falsely claimed his 8-year-old son died of malaria during a trip to Kenya in order to collect a $50,000 life insurance policy.
North Dakota Insurance Commissioner Adam Hamm said Friday that Farah Mohamed Ibrahim, 36, is chargedwith attempt to commit theft of property.
Hamm says Ibrahim took out the policy in January 2009 and, in May, submitted a claim, along with what looked like a Kenyan death certificate and medical records documenting the death.
Hamm says Ibrahim told investigators his brother bribed an official to get the fake documents.
Ibrahim never got the insurance money.
There were two numbers listed for Farah Ibrahim in Fargo. One was no longer in service Friday, and the other rang unanswered.
Then I noticed there were some 20 discussion comments concerning the story and I thought...what? Who cares?
