33 Chile miners vanished.. A massive mine collapse left them in darkness. When I first heard about the catastrophe, I was certain they were dead. Apparently not, 2,300ft below the earths surface 33 men are alive! They made it to a safe place and are waiting for rescue, which could take up to 4 months. Wow!? To think I have issues being stuck on elevator for more then 3 minutes.
Right now, the trapped miners lifeline to the service is several tubes. The tubes carry air, supplies, cereal bars, water, and "a football shirt signed by the Chilean national team and a picture of Elvis." One will survive if one has a football shirt and of course Elvis!!
My heart goes out to these trapped miners and their plight. They are so far down and so very far away from civilization it is like going to Mars for several months and of course bringing Elvis with.
