ah hell no....

The following article leaves me disturbed to several degrees....

  1. You are in the bathroom, in this case almost teenage joy level, and some man asks for you to open the window so he can speak to your mom?  Dude, the bathroom is a personal vortex of happiness.  Sure, these days I spend most of my time sharing it with at least one cat, one dog, and toddler - who thinks he must lower the toilet seat while I am bearing my naked bum to the throne.  But still...random stranger shows up and asks me to open window?  Yea, no....does that even seem normal?
  2. Unknown stranger..."hey little girl can I talk to your mommy?  Lower the window?"  Either this girl is not very bright and if so, she should probably not be allowed to walk on the street as she will apparently hop into any random strangers car.
  3. "She said the man pulled her out the window, dragged her through a backyard and across a parking lot at Washington Courts..."  and left her?  What?  Failed kidnapping and violence if you ask me.
  4. Description: "He said the girl described the man as a tall black man with scars on his face and forehead. She said he was wearing a black T-shirt and white- or cream-colored pants."   I live in predominant Norwegian/German place...that means tons of people that don't see sunlight a lot - it is like living with vampires!  A tall black man with facial scars would stand out, well like a proverbially "red flag."
  5. Finally, this random stranger wanted to speak to her mother?  Where is mother?  Was mommy in the bathroom with her? I would tell the dude to use the door like a normal person.  Of course that is assuming I would communicate with him, rather then call the police.  At 11 years, the Culligan man came to collect a water dispenser, I finally let him in, after seeing credentials, but then ended up following him around with a fireplace poker.  At 6, I got lost in the Brookfield Zoo, not even the zoo police could get me to come to them.  Of course I did grow up in the Chicago suburbs and this sort of thing would not even make the news, and if it did only after it was confirmed as an actual event. I grew up with things far more scary:  Killer Clown and Jeffrey Dahmer.  Real evil boogie men.

An 11-year-old girl says an unknown man pulled her out of an open bathroom window, dragged her outside and threw her in a bush.
Bismarck Police Sgt. Mark Buschena said the girl reported she was in the bathroom at her apartment on the 300 block of Indiana Avenue when a man asked her to open the window so he could speak to the girl’s mother at approximately 4 p.m. Monday. She said the man pulled her out the window, dragged her through a backyard and across a parking lot at Washington Courts, then left her in a bush outside Washington Courts.
The girl had minor scratches on her left arm, Buschena said.
He said the girl described the man as a tall black man with scars on his face and forehead. She said he was wearing a black T-shirt and white- or cream-colored pants.
Detectives were called in and are following up on leads in the case, Buschena said. He said it remains under investigation, and officers have not arrested anyone.
