some get defensive...

Sorry Sarah, way to call in historical bits to your speech including duels and early history about our American political system but the fact that is always true - propaganda, like you used "most notably putting Giffords in the crosshairs on a campaign poster distributed before the shootings" - does have an effect on the population!  The Nazi's knew this and you seem to have missed this tiny factoid entirely?  I am more impressed with your terminology "blood libel."  What are you some sort of idiot?  Lucky for me salon.com put this entirely into focus for us.  Again, Sarah, if you had any concept about history, you would have not used this terminology in your speech.

Sure, you are all upset about the "media's unified attack against your violent rhetoric" how do you think we feel about your oozing idiotic musings?  Your use of violent rhetoric?  Your hideous Alaska show? Now the Arizona shootings?

"Since journalists and pundits are manufacturing "blood libel," the former Alaskan governer must want to speak directly to the people. However, as The Guardian points out, she probably could've picked a better phrase to describe the media's unified attack against her use of violent rhetoric -- most notably putting Giffords in the crosshairs on a campaign poster distributed before the shootings.
"Blood libel" according to Wikipedia:

Blood libel (also blood accusation) refers to a false accusation or claim that religious minorities, almost always Jews, murder children to use their blood in certain aspects of their religious rituals and holidays. Historically, these claims have–alongside those of well poisoning and host desecration–been a major theme in European persecution of Jews.
Also, Gabrielle Giffords is Jewish. Oh dear." (salon.com)
