Valentines has almost fulfilled its yearly trip around the calendar. I enjoy watching various jewelry stores attempt to sell diamonds and other precious rocks to the poor feeble minded already in debt up to their nose hairs Americans. Ever since I saw this smoldering diamond mines, basically vast black holes in the earth in Africa, I find it difficult to consider buying a diamond. Supporting such barbaric activity that harms humans bothers me. Though I remain fine purchasing clothes that probably were made by Chinese children. Ok, so my priorities are bit messed up.
This year, I acquired the most perfect gift for my darling Patrick. A heating pad for his back. Yes, very utilitarian but with all the shoveling, lifting of toddler, and other assigned duties....his poor back screams out for some lovin'.
