changing world...

I am not a morning person, I have attempted to be in the past but generally fail miserably at this quest. I would rather curl my toes up under the blankets and snuggle with Patrick, the cats, and dogs for a few more brief delicous hours then race out to face my day.  My morning patterns abruptly changed on Sept. 20, 2009 when I woke up at 4am with the worst gas ever!  Ok, so it turned out I was in labor, how was I supposed to know?

No my day goes something like this:
  • 4:30 or 5:30am: Nicky wakes up to eat.  He generally sleeps all night but sometimes wakes up early then usual.
  • 6am: I bath, eat, check my e-mail, and mess with the cats.
  • 7am: Prepare to start car to warm it, get Nicky ready - in other words I put pants on the kid.  I am sure Jenny would frown if I showed up with a trouserless child everday.  Nicky is not a big pants person.  He likes his legs to be FREE so he can wiggle and play with his feet and toes.  Pants seem to inhibit his favorite hobby, toe play.
  • 7:15: Car seat and out the door
  • 8am: work
  • 5 - 8pm: baby snuggle time (no more evening naps).
  • 8pm: generally Nicky falls asleep and it gives me a chance to watch Hulu, take care of bottles, eat dinner, and figure what we are wearing tomorrow.
  • 9:30pm: I am struggling to stay within the realm of human life.
Yep, kids make you morning people.  I am sure I will look back fondly on these days as I try to wake Nick up to get to his early more Physics class.  Of course buckets of cold water generally get kids to move quickly.  Of course how can I not be a morning person, look at that cute baby!  He is so happy in the morning, better then an caffeinated beverage or sugar drenched pastry to start my day :-)

Note: I am getting more sleep then I ever did while pregnant...this is a good thing!
