2001, I came to my parents house to roost after charging through a rather painful Masters program. While home, my parents found an adorable doggy at the Human Society. They came home late one day, I asked them what they had been up to and they said..."visiting Cindy..."
Um what? Finally they fessed up that they had received a phone call from the Human Society about a stray
Sheltie and they had gone and adopted her that evening.
(She is named Cinderella, after the little cinder girl)
After the "snip snip" Cindy came home. She was a gift for my brother, who would not be home for another week. We kept the new family member a secret. When Doug arrived home and walked into his room, the first thing he said was "there is a dog in here..." Cindy and him became fast pals, to the point that if he went away and left her she would get so very upset.

Last year, she was having some severe coughing issues and not eating. She was diagnosed with water on the lungs and given drugs. Doug decided that if she would eventually go away, he wanted her to be happy, so he sent her back with my parents to the West Coast. Face it the North Dakota winters suck, particularly for sick doggies. After arriving on the West Coast, Cindy went to see her first Vet. He looked her over, they did some x-rays and found a huge tumor on her esophagus. Once the evil beast growth was removed, she improved! Returning to her old self. The vet, gave not guarantee this would be permanent, as the tumor was cancerous. A couple days ago, after almost a delicious year of frolicking amongst the water, mountains, trees with her beloved boy. She has again taken a turn for the worst. This time the cancer is through out her lungs. I am so very sad, I love her so much. I have loved her from the minute I carried her from the vet to the car after her "snip snip." She was so scared. A little bossy, a little loud, and def. really OCD about many things but she is my adorable black and white baby girl.
