Until the End of the World?

Eons ago, when dinosaurs roamed the earth, my cousins and I journeyed to one of those retro video rental places. When one has more then one person in a group, when selecting a movie, it becomes impossible!  We ended up picking a random film based on its soundtrack: Until the End of the World.  Mind you, the copy that was available was the edited shorter version.  Thus, the film left a lot to the imagination.  The first time I watched it, not impressed.  About the 40th time, I actually decided...I really love this film!!  If it had not been for John (king of the goats) we would have probably not come home with the film at all!  The film got selected because it had the Talking Heads, Elvis Costello, R.E.M., Depeche Mode, and U2. Just amazing soundtrack!

I have since see the full version of Wender's film, required some illegal acquiring as it is not available in the US in its full unedited format.   I wait in anticipation for if and when the film is available to actually "buy it."  My wait has been years now.  In the film a device is created that records dreams, no I will tell you more, go get the film but in the BBC news announced a Dream Recording Device development.

"Writing in the journal Nature, researchers said they have developed a system capable of recording higher-level brain activity.
"We would like to read people's dreams," says the lead scientist Dr Moran Cerf"

I am so excited, I hope Wenders makes a film about this starring Solveig Dommartin, William Hurt, and Sam Neill.
