Patrick surprised me with a Kindle for Christmas. Originally I had been on the fence when it came to moving into the digital bookish realm. I do use e-books, journals, and what not for research but having a device that I could carry with me that served this function was somewhat hard for my brain to move to. I do eventually get around to adapting to new Tech. I also generally know about the new Tech light years before other people I know....but when it comes to adaption I am a late adapter. I want to read reviews, see what people think, wait for another generation to arrive so I don't get the one with all the bugs. Most of all, I don't want to spend a butt load of money on something that will eventually come down in price (see i-pads for this one).
Several things grabbed me promptly the other night while playing with my new information toy:
Books are so damn cheap now!
Now I can read all those pulp trashy novels I want without anyone being the wiser to my mental slippage!
There are vast quantity of books in the public domain for FREE!
I can pretty much get any magazine or newspaper delivered right to my Kindle.
That and it is so very pretty and wants me to me to snuggle it and read it.
Life is good...one giant package of Happy Kindle Joy!
