A recent bit of news circulating the intertubes is about the 425 pound lady that was denied a seat back on 3 flights after a vacation in Eastern Europe. She already had pending medical issues, including a kidney failure? She died in a hotel, unable to return to the US. Different details are popping up in various web news sites:

A few questions exploded into my brain:
I feel bad she died abroad, I feel bad she could not get home for medical care. The issue lingers, she could have gotten fairly good medical care in Prague. She did not take advantage of it. Her husband can't blame the airlines for his inability to take her to a medical facility for care or have an emergency contingency plan. That is not the airlines responsibility.

A few questions exploded into my brain:
- She got over, how the hell did she pee on the plane? I am average size and hanging out on airlines is unconformable to say the least. I am sure she had something, but still...
- Blood clots in legs from sitting could have killed her on the plane.
- If you have known serious medical condition, in this case kidney problems, who boards a flight for an extended vacation?
- From various news agencies, it is reported she did not want to go to local doctors/hospitals as they might not understand her medical condition/treatment. Good grief lady, go to a doctor you don't know well, or dying? I will take my chances with the local medical facilities. If you were worried about the hospitals in Prague, go the fuck to Berlin. Ok there is a big reason I know some stuff about hospitals in the general area she was in, as I once was there, traveling across the country basically by myself/with cousin. Had a need for medical assitance and researched the hospitals/medical facilities prior to my departure. Also, if your wife has such serious medical issues, wouldn't you leave the United States carrying her medical records with you? or at least a copy to prepare for the worst? Even have your United States Doctor recommend medical facilities in the various areas you are traveling to, have an emergency plan?
- Prague - Delta spent an hour trying to get her seated
- News reports say that at some point the fire department was called into assist.
- KLM - for some reason could not get her on the flight.
- "She drove to Prague and they put her on the seat and they couldn't belt her in so the captain came out of the cockpit and made her get off." Well yes, if you can't fasten your seat belt, you can't fly. That is kinda of the rule there dudes. The pilot was not being rude, the seat belt thing would have violated some sort of flight rule.
- Some people are saying, including the lawyer representing her husband and her, that is the airlines responsibility to get her back to the United States. I am going with that they tried, they really truly tried. But if you can't fasten your seat belt, you are not flying.
- She could have died on the plane, would her husband be suing the airline?
