So apparently, a rather religious Arizona family decided they would flee the US. "Hannah Gastonguay, 26, said Saturday that she and her husband "decided to take a leap of faith and see where God led us" when they took their two small children and her father-in-law and set sail from San Diego for the tiny island nation of Kiribati in May." Well if one is going to take a "leap of faith" and it involves large bodies of water make sure you are a damn good navigator and prepare for the worst. I mean the ocean can and will kick your ass if it is allowed to.
Well the family got their asses saved by a Venezuelan fishing vessel who handed them over to a Japanese Cargo ship, and finally made it to Chile.
The reason for fleeing the US.. "U.S. "churches aren't their own," Gastonguay said, suggesting that government regulation interfered with religious independence." Obviously, they haven't lived abroad, if they had, they would realize that US has more freedom in the religious department then a lot of their neighbors.
Well what I do find ironic, is the fact that the same US government they despise is saving their asses and bringing them back to the US. I wonder how they will escape this time? From this overwhelming government oppression? Might I recommend flying somewhere? Much quicker, less likely you will starve and die, slow horrible deaths. Oh wait, never mind it is the airline industry, no guarantee you will get food or liquid on any flights anymore.
So you guys"go back to Arizona" and "come up with a new plan." Might I recommend Mexico? Much closer, less likely you will get lost.
Sounds like the family is crediting their saving to God, of course. I kinda of like to think of it as "God saves stupid people..." or their saving is credited to pure luck.
